In the beginning of February one of the largest events for tourism professionals „Buy Latvia. Buy the Baltic’s. 2009” took place in Latvia. It was organized by the Latvian State Agency of Tourism Development. The main goal of this event was the popularisation of Latvian and Baltic tourism sphere.

During the event tourism professionals from all of the world took part in specially organised tours. They acquainted with Latvian and Baltic tourism offer and met with representatives of tourism sphere. Participants also visited popular tourism destinations – Sigulda Town, Turaida Museum Reserve and also visited Līgatne Nature Trails in Gauja National Park. They discussed about the new infrastructure of Līgatne Nature Trails and acknowledged it as very well organised.

The event „Buy Latvia. Buy the Baltics. 2009” has become a serious and well recognized event among the tourism professionals not only in the Baltic States, but also in the Baltic sea region. Latvia also is recognized as a significant tourism destination in Baltic States.
