From 15th till 17th of June an International camp was organized in Gauja NP within the framework of the Estonian - Latvian cooperation program project „Back to nature”

The participants of this camp was 12-14 year old Latvian (from the surroundings of Gauja and Ķemeri National Parks) and Estonian youngsters. The participation in this camp was for free. But for gaining an opportunity to participate in this international camp, youngsters had to take part in a specific competition. As the main theme of the project is chosen wetlands, the task was to write an essay or presentation about his/her observations in nature, especially in connection to wetlands. All works were evaluated by a specially made committee which consisted of Gauja NP Administration and Gauja NP Foundation employees. The authors of the best works got an opportunity to participate in the camp.

The aim of this camp is to raise youngster’s interest and level of education about nature conservation and local environment through different exciting activities, such as hiking, cycling, boating, etc.
