News in the Līgatne Nature Trails

In the beginning of June at the Līgatne Nature Trails Forest School "Pauguri” the first photo exhibition was opened by the staff of Gauja NP Administration and Gauja NP Fund. Exhibition tells about Africa, its nature and people. All photos were made during the Plymouth-Banjul Challenge Race. The author of all photos is Jānis Brauns - a man who is working in the forest sector and whose hobby is photographing.

The building, where now the Forest School is set up, was renovated in 2008 with the financial support of the European Regional Development Fund. Forest School is established for the environmental education purposes. In future it is planned to present other photo exhibitions, possibly about the animals of Līgatne Nature Trails, accessibility of protected areas and Junior Ranger movement in the Gauja NP.

It is possible to visit the exhibition in the Līgatne Nature Trails during all July.
The entrance to the exhibition is free of charge.
