This will be the sixth year of the European Bat Night in Gauja National Park. At this time bat night will be organized in two different places – on the 29th July, at 6 p.m. in the Nature and Cultural Environment Initiative Centre „White house” and on the 30th July, at 7 p.m. in the Ungurmuiža manor house in Cēsu district, Raiskuma parish.

These educational events are for everyone, who wants to find out something more about Gauja National Park symbolic animal – bat, and also to participate at the special bat observation trip. There will be a possibility to determine different bat species with a bat detector.

Bat is the symbol of Gauja National Park. It has been chosen, because in the territory of Gauja National Park has been found almost all bat species living in Latvia. In Gauja National Park there are appropriate surroundings for bats – varied feeding base and appropriate places for living and hibernating.
